After being handed over to the Russian authorities, the Tsuroev brothers were brutally tortured by FSB officers. They were also injected with unknown substances. Subsequently, Movlat and Yusuf, in grave physical and emotional condition, were taken to the FSB Directorate for Ingushetia in Magas. After this, the brothers were presumably sent to Vladikavkaz.
Sources also claim that one of the conditions set by the Turkish intelligence agency MIT was a complete concealment of its involvement in the brothers’ transfer. The Russian side was to present the incident as the Tsuroyevs’ voluntary return to Russia and their confession. According to this version, Movlat and Yusuf allegedly returned to the country voluntarily and entered into an agreement with the FSB.
