In Kalmykia, an FSB officer shot his colleague while drinking alcohol together, ASTRA reports. The incident occurred on May 28.
According to the publication, an FSB operative for the Chernozemelsky district of Kalmykia, Baatr Boltyrov, while drinking, argued with his drinking companion, an FSB operative for Elista Alexander Badmaev. During the quarrel, Boltyrov grabbed a carbine and opened fire on his friend. Badmaev died on the spot from his injuries.
A criminal case of murder has been opened into the incident. The culprit has been detained.
FSB officers have committed murders while intoxicated before. For example, in April 2018, Federal Security Service Major Pavel Sterlyagov and his colleague, while on a business trip in the Elbrus region of Kabardino-Balkaria, attacked a local resident, taxi driver Khusei Makitov, who refused to take them. Both security officers were pretty drunk. As a result, Sterlyagov stabbed Makitov about 10 times, from which the victim died. The court sentenced the killer to nine years in a maximum security colony.
In 2012, the North Caucasus District Military Court sentenced FSB officer Vyacheslav Efimenko to 12 years in a maximum security colony. Before this, the investigation established that in December 2011, Efimenko, who was under the influence of alcohol, thought that two of his colleagues were discussing how to harm him, after which the man opened fire on them. As a result, one victim died, and the second escaped with injuries.
