On 12 May, the ABN human rights project on Putin’s political prisoners was presented in Athens. The event was co-organized by the Greek Committee of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations, coordinated by the head of the Society of the Ukrainian Diaspora of Greece, Halyna Maslyuk.
Opening the event, ABN President Oleh Medunytsya emphasized the need for international support for the leaders of the national liberation movements of enslaved peoples in their struggle for their rights and freedoms. “The Anti-Imperial Block of Nations does this methodically and consistently,” noted Oleh Medunytsya, “and every day we find more and more partners for this struggle worldwide.”
During the presentation, Jana Tiikhonen, a Karelian activist and head of the Finno-Ugric human rights organization “Ranta”, also spoke, emphasizing the extraordinary relevance of the human rights work initiated by the ABN and talking about political repression in Russia.
After the meeting in Athens, the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations delegation continued its human rights tour. Next in line are presentations in Rome and Prague.
