Anti-imperial Block of Nations

On 3 October, the Western European tour of the ABN human rights project continued in France. The presentation of the project took place in Paris, in partnership with the Chechen national movement “United Force” and the Union of Ukrainians in France.
In his opening remarks to the participants of the event, the President of the Union of Ukrainians in France, Jean-Pierre Pasternak, emphasised the importance of bringing truthful information about human rights violations in Russia to French politicians and human rights activists.
The President of the ABN, Oleh Medunytsya, emphasised the main goal of the project — to achieve the release of political prisoners who represent the national liberation movements of enslaved peoples.
The leader of the Chechen national movement “United Force,” Dzhambulat Suleymanov, thanked the representatives of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations for their cooperation and human rights work. He described the difficult situation that has developed with Chechen political prisoners who are persecuted by the Putin-Kadyrov regime.
The spokeswoman for the Chechen national movement “United Force,” Fatima Suleymanova, drew attention in her speech to the importance of supporting the national movements of enslaved peoples in Ukraine and Europe. According to Fatima Suleymanova, the civilized world must realise the difference between the so-called “Russian democratic opposition” and fighters for the freedom of their peoples.
The head of the All-Tatar Public Centre, Farit Zakiyev, told the stories of political prisoners representing Tatarstan. He emphasised that the Moscow punitive authorities do not spare either women or men, young people or representatives of the older generation.
Ramil Vagapov, a representative of the Bashkir national movement, drew the attention of those present to the repressions in Bashkortostan. In particular, he spoke about the fate of those political prisoners who were convicted in the so-called “Baymak case”.
Activists from the Ukrainian diaspora, journalists, French public activists and representatives of the Paris city hall also took part in the presentation.
