Details: The Gorky oil pumping station in the settlement of Meshikha in Russia’s Nizhny Novgorod Oblast is an important element of Russia’s oil transit system and is part of Transneft Upper Volga.

The station transports oil via trunk pipelines, including along the Surgut-Gorky-Polotsk route, and ensures pumping of crude to domestic routes, including to the Lukoil refinery in the city of Kstovo.

Background: Earlier reports said fires had broken out at the Gorky oil pumping station in Nizhny Novgorod Oblast and at a petrochemical plant in Samara Oblast following drone strikes on the night of 22-23 April.
