While defending Ukraine from a full-scale Russian invasion, a volunteer from the Czech Republic died at the front.
It is reported that the volunteer died in the battles for Avdiivka, Donetsk region.
The death of the soldier was first reported on the social network X, later the information was confirmed by the Ministry of Defense of the Czech Republic.
The position occupied by the soldier was hit by mortar fire, after which no one saw the soldier. Now this place is temporarily occupied by Russian troops.
It is also noted that since the beginning of the full-scale attack by the Russians in February 2022, four citizens of the Czech Republic have died in the battles for Ukraine.
Earlier, CNN noted that Ukraine is replenishing its ranks with volunteers, but some of them are forced to leave the battlefield due to the “unexpectedly cruel” course of the war.
As the publication reported, even though more and more volunteers are joining the International Legion, Ukraine still faces a shortage of military personnel. In particular, Ukrainian officials publicly admit that evasion of military service and compliance with mobilization rules remains a problem.
It also became known that several hundred veterans of the Army of Colombia – the second largest army in South America – joined the ranks of the International Legion of the Armed Forces.
