At the conference in Kyiv, the Belarusian national forces announced a joint strategy for the fight against Russia.

The creation of the Belarusian Liberation Army, the unification of national forces and a special representative for Belarus in the Ukrainian government were the main issues discussed during the “Way to Freedom” conference in Kyiv. It united the Belarusian national-democratic forces in the struggle for freedom and the European path of development for Belarus. This event united the Belarusian military and political structures in the fight against Lukashenka and Putin.

More than 150 Belarusian public activists and Belarusian volunteers fighting for Ukraine, as well as Ukrainian politicians and public figures, took part in the conference.

At the beginning of the event, representatives of the inter-factional association of deputies “For Democratic Belarus” of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine appealed to the President of Ukraine, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Verkhovna Rada with a call to do everything possible to support the Belarusian resistance movement and struggle for freedom in the neighbouring state.

At the same time, all Belarusian national-democratic forces were united in the opinion that only Ukraine’s victory in the war with Russia would give Belarus a chance to break free from Russian influence, which can rightly be called an occupation. The main thing in the activity of all Belarusian organizations and Belarusians in general should be to help Ukraine and such Belarusian units as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, such as the regiment named after Kastus Kalynovsky.

At the event, the general strategy of the national liberation movement of Belarus was developed and a consultation platform was formed for the implementation of this strategy. The outcome of the conference was the Memorandum on Cooperation in the liberation of Belarus, which was supported by all major political forces: from Kalinovsky’s regiment, which is fighting as part of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for the freedom of Ukraine, to Svitlana Tikhanovskaya and the most powerful democratic movements of Belarus.

At the conference, steps were taken to unify the Belarusian volunteers who are fighting for Ukraine. It was decided to establish the Temporary Military Commission as a collegial executive body, which is formed by equal representation of Belarusian national military formations. In the future there are plans to create a military socio-political structure “Belarusian Liberation Army”.

The conference also adopted an appeal to the leadership of Ukraine with a request to create the position of a special representative for Belarus. The implementation of such a step would make cooperation between the Ukrainian authorities and representatives of the Belarusian democratic community more effective.

In addition to the political part, an important event within the conference was the presentation of the uniform of the future army of Belarus. In the sketches presented, the central place is occupied by the main national symbols: the coat of arms “Pogonya”, the six-pointed cross of the times of the Grand Duchy of Lithuania and the eight-pointed star of Usyaslav Polotskyi, which demonstrates continuity with the ancient history of Belarus, in contrast to the five-pointed red star, a symbol of Bolshevik crimes.

According to the results of the conference, it was possible to adopt 2 joint documents: the Memorandum and the Address to the Free Nations of the World.
