Anti-imperial Block of Nations

“Good day! Thank you to all the organizers, the speakers and all of you who, every week, despite the rain and snow, continue to support Ukraine and the supremacy of international law over the hard power of Russia.

My name is Abdrakhmanova Aida. I am an ethnic Tatar, from the Republic of Tatarstan. I am the Deputy Prime Minister of the Government of Independent Tatarstan in Exile, a member of the League of Free Nations, and the Vice President of the Anti-Imperialist Bloc of Nations. We work together with Ukrainian politicians, with the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine, where the Special Temporary Commission for Work with Indigenous People of Russia has been created, to bring Ukraine’s victory over Russia closer, and the strategic goal of our joint work is denuclearization, demilitarization, deimperialization and decolonization of Russia. After all, only Ukraine’s victory over Russia and access to the 1991 border will not cease to carry an existential threat from Russia for the prosperous future of both Ukraine and Europe. This is very well understood in Ukraine.

My Republic of Tatarstan must be free from Moscow’s occupation and become a sovereign democratic state, a subject of international law! My Tatar people must not be involved in Russia’s imperial wars, which it has waged throughout its history up until the 21st century in Ukraine! The main reason for Russia’s war in Ukraine is its revanchist ambitions, and the desire to recreate the Russian empire and subjugate all non-Russian nations.

Patrik Oksanen, a Swedish writer, says it well. I met him last week at his conference called “Why Russia Does What Russia Does?” The conclusion is that Russia is a country that has constantly waged wars of conquest – occupying territories, assimilating non-Russian nations and subjugating them for its own purposes, for the sake of dominating most of the land and sea.

15 October 1552, is the “Day of Remembrance” in the history of my Tatar people. This is the day when Ivan the Terrible cruelly and bloodily captured the Kazan Khanate. “Day of Remembrance” dedicated to the soldiers who died defending their homeland is prohibited in Russia. For 472 years, since the occupation of the Kazan Khanate, the methods of capture and colonization in Russia have not changed: cruel aggression, murder of civilians, kidnapping of children, theft and destruction of property. Unfortunately, we see all this from Russia now in Ukraine, which is recorded by the UN Commission, experts of the Helsinki Commission, the International Criminal Court, in the latest resolutions of the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe and the Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe.

I call on Ukraine’s allies not to stop helping Ukraine, but only to increase it! A good example for the whole world is Sweden, which supports Ukraine not only politically, but also in the economic and military sphere. I thank Sweden and all the Swedish people!

We should all, as a single bloc, come out against the totalitarian and dictatorial regimes of Russia and its partners! After all, this will be a victory not only for Ukraine but for the entire civilized and democratic world! Russia out of Ukraine! Free Tatarstan! Glory to Ukraine!”

Aida Abdrakhmanova, member of the Government of Independent Tatarstan in Exile, vice-president of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations.
