12 February 2025 marked an important event: diplomatic negotiations between the USA and Belarus resulted in the release of three political prisoners, after which the possibility of “a big agreement” was announced regarding the release of all of Belarus’s political prisoners.
The topic of the release of political prisoners should also be included in future peace negotiations between the USA, Ukraine and Russia.
The Anti-imperial Bloc of Nations welcomes the USA President Administration’s efforts toward the release of political prisoners and hostages! At the same time, ABN requests that special attention be given to the imprisoned activists of liberation movements of indigenous nations in Russia.
Thousands of political prisoners representing national liberation movements are kept in Russian jails under falsified cases. At the end of 2024, the ABN founded the international human rights defence project “The real prisoners of Putin. Political prisoners of the enslaved nations.” The paramount goal of the project is to deliver true information regarding repressions by the Kremlin regime towards leaders and activists of national liberation movements of the enslaved nations. Also, an important task for the project is to compile a complete list of political prisoners of the enslaved nations. This has now been created and ABN representatives are prepared to submit it to the Administration of the President of the USA to work on the release of the prisoners from Moscow’s jails. This list consists of ethnic Ukrainians, and citizens of the Russian Federation, sentenced for their active civilian position and Ukrainian ancestry.
Additionally, ABN also asks the US Presidential Administration to give special attention to the Ukrainian prisoners of war still in Russian captivity, and children of Ukraine unlawfully removed from Ukrainian territory, as well as sentenced Crimean Tatar activists. It is a matter of urgency that they also be released!
With respect,
The Anti-imperial Bloc of Nations.
