On 13 March 2026, The Insider published an investigation titled “A Secret Intelligence Unit Linked to Political Assassinations Abroad.”
This investigation uncovered a network of Russian intelligence agents who were plotting political assassinations abroad. The investigation notes that “the financial terms were clearly defined. During a meeting in Moscow in October 2024, held at a restaurant just minutes from the FSB building on Lubyanka Square, Alimov (the client) handed over a $60,000 deposit and offered Durovich a payment of approximately $1.5 million for each successfully ‘deported’ target. If the operation was successful, a reward exceeding $10 million could be offered for the third person—wanted, according to Alimov, ‘dead or alive.'”
On 7 April 2026, the Grozny court in the occupied Chechen Republic of Ichkeria ruled to recognise the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria as a “terrorist organisation.” Immediately afterward, on 9 April, propaganda films directed against supporters of Ichkeria were released on six state-run Russian channels.

The film makes absurd accusations of ties between the Government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria and the British intelligence agency MI6 and makes direct threats to all supporters of Ichkeria.

On 24 August 2026, another assassination attempt was made on me in Kyiv.
The assassination attempt was thwarted by Ukrainian security services, as reported in the international press, including Radio Liberty, which also reported on the assassination attempt on Akhmed Akhmedov and the murder of Zumso, an Ichkerian who fought in the Ukrainian Armed Forces. On 3 October 2026, Inna Kurochkina’s colleagues reported that they had obtained information that in 2025, the Basmanny Court of Moscow had simultaneously opened a criminal case against Inna Kurochkina on three counts related to accusations of “terrorist activity” related to her journalistic work, her participation in the coordinating council of the Forum of Free Peoples of Post-Russia, and her participation in the Government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. Under all charges, she faces up to life imprisonment.
On 11 June 2025, the Moscow City Court, without informing Inna Kurochkina, held an appeal hearing with a designated lawyer and issued a ruling upholding the Basmanny Court’s decision and placing Inna Kurochkina on the international wanted list. Since 2022, Russian channels have been broadcasting programmes with threats against Inna Kurochkina, including from propagandist Nikita Mikhalkov on the programme Besogon.

Based on these facts, and realising the threat to her own life, Inna Kurochkina applied for international protection in the Czech Republic, where she has been a resident since 2010.
These facts about the threat to Inna Kurochkina’s life must be made public immediately, as it is known that the prosecution in the Russian Federation and the propaganda campaign on Kremlin channels signify preparations for an attempt on Inna Kurochkina’s life.
It is necessary to recall that in 2006, the Russian government passed a law allowing Russian special services to eliminate “enemies of the Kremlin abroad.”
