“The Bashkirs are a nation who have contractual relations with the Russian Federation. Russia did not conquer or annex Bashkortostan. In 1990, the Bashkirs declared their sovereignty and in 1993 they signed an agreement with Russia on the delimitation of their powers.
Just as Bashkortostan became part of the Russian Federation, the USSR or the Russian Empire… – so it has the right to leave it.
But today not only Bashkortostan but also other enslaved nations should protest. Ukraine, for its part, must recognize the sovereignty of these Republics. This is the only way to speed up the collapse of the Russian empire and make this process less painful.
This empire is already doomed. This needs to be understood.”
Director of the USSD, junior sergeant of the 5th separate assault brigade of the Armed Forces of Ukraine Yuriy Sirotyuk at the briefing “Protests in Bashkortostan – the beginning of the collapse of Russia,” which took place on January 18 at the Ukrainian Crisis Media Center.
