The total suppression of the Tatar national movement is not just an attack on one ethnic group, it is a blow to the whole idea of freedom, culture and national identity that we, the indigenous nations, are trying to preserve and revive. It is an attack on one of the strongest national movements in the “RF”.
Zinnur Agliullin, a 73-year-old veteran of the Tatar national movement, is accused of allegedly “inciting hatred towards Russians” for his statements in an audio stream. For this, the Kremlin dogs held a trial over him in Nizhny Novgorod.
Fazyl Valiakhmetov, a 70-year-old journalist and local historian from Bugulma, was arrested for five anti-war posts in the Tatar language. Despite his grave health, he is in pretrial detention.
Engel Fattakhov, the former Minister of Education of Tatarstan and the ex-head of the Aktanyshsky District, dedicated his life to protecting the Tatar language in the educational system. For this, the system decided to take revenge on him by arresting him. But despite his struggle and deteriorating health, he is denied a transfer to house arrest.
As a representative of the Chuvash people, I stand shoulder to shoulder with our Tatar brothers. The international community, Turkic states, organizations and patriots – we must unite! Stop the pressure on the Tatar national movement, stop the political repression of the defenders of the Tatar nation! Our duty is to speak loudly, act decisively and demand justice for everyone who fights for their native language, history and national identity.
In addition, this is also a personal matter for me. As a Chuvash from Tatarstan, I cannot simply watch as my fellow countrymen, defenders of the Tatar nation, with whom I have lived side by side for more than half my life, are imprisoned.
Silence is passivity. It is time to speak, it is time to act! We will not let the Turkic world fall silent under the yoke of injustice! “
