Yesterday, two significant events took place in Kyiv and Washington, almost simultaneously. Oleg Protsenko’s book “National Tribune. Life and Ideas of Ivan Vovchuk”.
The book describes the life and activities of Stepan Bandera’s deputy, a member of the OUN Provod, Ivan Vovchuk (Fedyr Vovk).
Ivan Vovchuk received the title of Righteous Among the Nations for saving the life of a Jewish family during the German occupation.
The vivid life of Ivan Vovchuk, inscribed in Ukraine’s struggle against two totalitarian regimes – Stalin’s and Hitler’s – demonstrates the extreme importance of looking back. His life and struggle are a vivid example of the destruction of myths by Russian propagandists.
In our history, we find not only the inspiration and strength for today’s struggle for freedom but also the truth buried by decades of aggressive Russian information warfare. This truth forms the foundation on which we stand today, protecting our country and the existence of the Ukrainian nation.
