Anti-imperial Block of Nations

Aida Abdrakhmanova, a member of the Government of Independent Tatarstan in exile, visited a unique exhibition about political prisoners in Sweden in honour of the Day of Solidarity with Political Prisoners of Belarus. The event was organised by the People’s Embassy of Belarus in Sweden.
On 21 May, the Viasna Human Rights Centre declared the Day of Solidarity with Political Prisoners of Belarus, following the sudden death in 2021 in Shklov Correctional Colony No. 17 of public activist Vitold Ashurak, who was sentenced to 5 years in prison for participating in peaceful protests. Since Vitold’s death, six more people have died behind bars.
As of 15 May 2025, 1,174 people have been recognised as political prisoners in Belarus.
They are all victims of the regime.
Eternal memory to Vitold Ashurko and all political prisoners who died in Belarusian prisons.
All responsibility for these crimes lies with the dictatorial regime of Lukashenko, who tortured and killed Belarusian citizens simply for criticising the government or expressing dissent.
Throughout their histories, Tatars and Belarusians have often faced attempts to preserve their freedom, independence, identity and culture.
For many years, Nafis Kashapov, a member of the Government of Independent Tatarstan in exile, has been a co-organiser of numerous rallies and demonstrations in Warsaw in defence of both Belarusians and all peoples enslaved by Muscovy.
The Government of Independent Tatarstan in Exile and various Belarusian organisations in Sweden and Poland are actively cooperating
with each other, support each other and are in solidarity in their aspirations for real independence and democracy!
Long live Belarus, Freedom for Independent Tatarstan!
