I attended a public lecture by Mariam Nayem in Stockholm entitled “Unmasking the Matryoshka Doll: How Russian Imperialism Shaped Stereotypes of Ukrainians.”
Such lectures, conferences, and discussion platforms are a valuable basis for understanding the essence of Russian imperialism and the importance of finally overcoming it through peaceful and controlled decolonization of Russia.
I am glad to meet Mariam Nayem, who came from Kyiv, and I thank the organizers of this lecture in Sweden, the Nordic Ukraine Forum.
Mariam Nayem is an independent researcher, author, and teacher who studies Ukraine from a postcolonial perspective.
I also met Harald Bergman . We had a conversation about Russian imperialism, its origins, and the current situation of non-Russian nations in Russia.
