In Sweden, I met an interesting person. His name is Patrik Oksanen. He is a writer and publicist. The author of two books, entitled “Russian Warships, go to Hell!”, “Sharp Shards”.
We met at his Conference entitled “Why does Russia do what Russia does?” (Varför gör Ryssland som Ryssland gör?)
From the name of the Conference, I understood what the discussion would be about and I was not mistaken! It was dedicated to Russian imperialism and Russia’s constant wars of conquest to expand its territories and subjugate new peoples.
In turn, I told Patrik about our work, about denuclearization, demilitarization, de-imperialization and peaceful decolonization of Russia, and also about the fact that we, the republics and regions, strive to live in our independent, democratic and civilized states. I think Patrik was a little surprised.
I am glad to meet dear Patrik Oksanen and grateful for his work. After all, his works and Conferences on Russian imperialism for the Swedes are the first way to understand the essence of the problem and why democracy is impossible in Russia, and this has been proven by history many times. However, Patrick Oksanen himself is not so categorical on this issue.
