On 13 August, in Ivano-Frankivsk, with the support of the Ivano-Frankivsk City Council, the mayor of the city, Ruslan Martsinkiv, and with the participation of soldiers of the Chechen volunteer battalion named after Sheikh Mansur”, a memorial plaque was opened to the first president of the Chechen Republic, Ichkeria Dzhokhar Dudayev, on the street by the same name. The street received its name back in 1996, after the death of the leader of the Chechen people, as a result of a missile attack, on the instructions of the then president of Moscow, Boris Yeltsin.
As noted by the board installation initiator, the director of the Ivano-Frankivsk Museum of the Liberation Struggle named after S. Bandera” Yaroslav Koretchuk: “It is a little-known fact that in 1995, thanks to the efforts of a delegation of members of the OUN (of Bandera) and the Congress of Ukrainian Nationalists, Dudayev’s wife Alla, secretly taken out of war-torn Chechnya was protected and hidden in Burshtyn, Ivano-Frankivsk region, in the village of Sheshory. At the same time, on the initiative of Slava Stetsko, who at that time was the head of the ABN and the head of the OUN (b), a collection of funds and medicines were carried out for the Republic of Ichkeria, which were delivered to Grozny. The UNA-UNSO “Viking” battalion went to the aid of the ChRI Armed Forces. Two soldiers of the Ukrainian unit – Sashko Bily and Oleg Chelnov were awarded the highest “National Hero” award of Ichkeria. It was then that Ukrainian blood was shed for the independence of Chechnya, today six volunteer Chechen battalions are fighting together with the soldiers of the Armed Forces of Ukraine for an independent Ukraine, for our freedom and yours.
The key to the Ukrainian nation’s victory over Moscow’s evil is the disintegration of the last European empire — Muscovite, Yaroslav Koretchuk emphasized. – When Russia loses the cannon fodder and natural wealth of the enslaved nations, then the Ukrainian nation can hope that our descendants will no longer have to take up arms. I am glad that the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists (Banderivites) has revived the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations under a new name – the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations, trying to unite the efforts of the enslaved nations in the fight against the Moscow enslavers. In my opinion, the Ukrainian authorities should also create all the necessary platforms for these nations in Ukraine to shake this imperial colossus on clay feet jointly,” concluded Yaroslav Koretchuk.
We will remind everyone that on October 18, 2022, at the plenary session of the Verkhovna Rada, the national deputies recognized Ichkeria as temporarily occupied by Russia and condemned the genocide of the Chechen people.
