On the air of “Aspects – Bashkortostan,” Ruslan Gabbasov, Head of the Committee of the Bashkir National Movement Abroad, recalled that the main threat to the national republics is Moscow. Therefore, the question of independence is currently just a waiting game for the moment when the centre loses control:
“The only one who can fight us is Moscow. If we declare independence, they might try to enslave us again. That’s why we’re now waiting for the moment when Moscow is so weakened that it won’t be able to do that.”
Ruslan Gabbasov is confident that such a moment is inevitable. Moscow lacks the resources to hold all the regions, and Russia’s disintegration is a matter of time:
“Moscow simply won’t have the strength to hold on to all the regions. Collapse will occur regardless. Europe must be prepared for the moment when 15 national republics simultaneously declare their independence.”
