Azerbaijani journalists showed a recording in which the order to open fire on an AZAL flight is heard, resulting in the plane crashing on 25 December near the Kazakh city of Aktau.

Minval Politika writes about this, reports “European Truth”.

The journalists stated that the editorial office received an anonymous letter with materials about a plane shot down on approach to Grozny, Russia.

The letter supposedly contains an explanatory note from the captain of the air defence calculation, Dmitry Paladichuk, who claims that the fire on the plane was opened on the order of the Russian Ministry of Defence.

The publication also received videos, audio recordings, and details about the poor condition of the equipment.

“At 08:13:30, I gave the command to the operator to hit. At 08:13:33, the missile left the guidance system. At 08:13:47, the BM-72V6 central control system issued a message that the target had been missed. At 08:13:48, I gave the command to fire again,” the letter says.

Journalists also published a fragment of a possible audio recording in which a male voice gives coordinates that match the data from the explanatory note, and then says: “Fire! I say fire!”.

After that, there is an explosion, and when they announce that the target has been missed, the same man says: “Again! Again!”

The journalists are not showing the entire transcript of the recordings, as they have yet to be examined by the investigative authorities. They insist that they cannot confirm the authenticity of the letter, although it contains the captain’s signature. At the same time, they consider the audio recordings to be completely real, as the information in them coincides.

On 25 December, an Embraer aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines, flying from Baku to Grozny, crashed near Aktau, Kazakhstan. The accident killed 38 people.

At the time, Azerbaijani President Ilham Aliyev stated that the plane had been fired upon from the ground.  He also indicated that Russia should have admitted its guilt, apologized promptly to Azerbaijan, which is considered a friendly country, and made this known to the public.

Azerbaijan’s Minister of Digital Development and Transport, Rashad Nabiyev, said that eyewitness accounts and holes in the plane’s fuselage indicate external interference, and the type of weapon used to commit the interference will be determined by the investigation.

And on 4 February, an Azerbaijani government source told Reuters that the country had precise confirmation that the plane was shot down by the Russian  Pantsir-S air defense system.

On the same day, the Ministry of Transport of Kazakhstan published a report with preliminary results of the investigation into the plane crash, which stated: after an initial inspection of the fragments that survived the crash of the Azerbaijan Airlines plane,  numerous through and non-through damages of various sizes and shapes were found in the tail section of the fuselage, keel and stabilizer, elevators and rudders.
