According to Aliyev, after the first shelling, the Azerbaijani side could still assume that it was an accident. Then Baku gave the Russian side the exact coordinates of all its diplomatic institutions in Ukraine – the embassy, consular department, cultural centres and other facilities.
However, despite this, two more attacks occurred.
“So this was a deliberate attack on the diplomatic mission of Azerbaijan,
” Aliyev emphasised.
He added that the Azerbaijani government has taken all necessary steps of diplomatic response: made special statements, informed the ambassador and sent an official note. According to the president, Baku is acting exclusively within the framework of diplomatic mechanisms, as it has no other tools in this situation.
Aliyev emphasised that such actions by Russia are regarded in Azerbaijan as an unfriendly step.
