The discussions were attended by Ambassador at Large of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Yaroslav Chornohor, deputies of the Verkhovna Rada, representatives of democratic forces of Belarus, researchers, politicians and heads of analytical institutions.
One of the key topics was Russia’s crimes and the illegal transfer of Ukrainian children to Belarus and the Russian Federation.
Deputy Head of the Transitional Cabinet of the Democratic Forces of Belarus Pavel Latushko noted that the Belarusian democratic forces are accumulating data related to crimes against Ukrainian children and personal data of Ukrainian orphans, which will be useful in returning Ukrainian children to their homeland. :
— We have begun the process of documenting Russian war crimes, the transfer of Ukrainian children to Belarus. In 2023, we have already submitted two documents to the Office of the Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court on the fact of the illegal transfer of Ukrainian children. We will continue to do so.
Separately, the participants spoke about the strengthening of the Russian presence in Belarus. Russian military and special services are becoming more active on its territory, and structures linked to the Russian Federation are operating, in particular the so-called “Black Rus” formation. Belarusian territory is also used to deploy systems and towers related to the coordination of “Shaheed” strikes on Ukraine.
