“This is an act of war” – the first statements of politicians about the attack on Poland

12 September 2025 News –
Republican Congressman Joe Wilson called Russia’s attack on Poland “an act of war.” He emphasised that Moscow used UAVs against a NATO ally just days after President Karol Nawrocki visited Washington and held talks with Donald Trump.
Last night, several Russian drones flew into Polish territory and were shot down. Aircraft from Poland, Hungary, Slovakia, Romania and even the Netherlands were put on alert. The skies over the central and eastern voivodeships of Poland were declared closed.
