Ukrainian will be recognized as a language of international communication, become an official language of the EU, and receive new opportunities for study and popularization abroad. This was emphasized by Taras Kremin, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language, welcoming the approval of the National Commission for State Language Standards for the text of the State Language Standard “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language. General proficiency levels A1 – C2”
“This decision is an important step for the establishment and popularization of Ukrainian abroad. I am convinced that this will significantly increase the number of people willing to learn the language of Heroes in the world, and will also guarantee the status of Ukrainian as an official language of the European Union. Now the word is with the Ministry of Justice of Ukraine, which will ensure the state registration of the standard of the state language as a regulatory document,” said Taras Kremin.
We will remind you that on 21 March 2022, the Commissioner for the Protection of the State Language became an associate member of the European Federation of National Language Institutions. On 31 July 2024, the National Commission for State Language Standards approved the text of the State Language Standard “Ukrainian as a Foreign Language. Levels of general proficiency A1 – C2”.
