On February 28, the self-proclaimed authorities of Transnistria are preparing a “convention of deputies of all levels” – the so-called parliament of Transnistria, as well as district, city, village and village councils, at which they are preparing an appeal to the President of the Russian Federation Vladimir Putin.

Source: Last Friday, citizens allegedly approached regional leader Vadym Krasnoselskyi with the idea of holding a general congress, on Monday he supported it, and on Wednesday the “parliament” of Transnistria announced that the meeting will be held on February 28.
The place, participants, and time of the event have already been determined, but the decision for which the deputies are gathered has not been announced.
At the same time, Transnistrian top politicians do not hide that the congress will discuss Russia.
The leadership of the region is allegedly dissatisfied with the latest decisions of the government of Moldova in the field of economy.
The leader of the Transnistrian parliament, Alexander Korshunov, set out to prove in the media that the congress would address the whole world, not only Russia.
“The situation is difficult, and it is necessary to appeal to all structures, including European ones,” he said, without disclosing, however, the essence of the appeal.
At the same time, the deputy of Transnistria’s “parliament” Vadym Kravchuk admitted on the air of the Tiraspol TV channel TSV that the purpose of the congress is to confirm that Tiraspol still wants to join the Russian Federation.
“It makes no sense to hold another referendum, but it is appropriate to confirm the previous decision… Transnistria determined the vector (unification) with Russia and the Eurasian Union back in 2006. The congress of deputies of all levels will most likely confirm our intentions,” he explained.
Gennadiy Chorba, one of the few representatives of the Transnistrian opposition, spoke even more bluntly, drawing attention to a coincidence: the congress, where an appeal to Russia will be announced in one form or another, was urgently scheduled for February 28. On February 29, Russian President Putin is scheduled to address the Russian Parliament.
Chorba concludes that the congress “must voice, on behalf of the citizens living on the left bank of the Dnipro, a request to admit Transnistria into the Russian Federation, and on February 29, Putin will announce this in his address, and the Federal Assembly will quickly approve the decision to grant this request”.
We will remind, following the results of the so-called referendum of 2006, the Transnistrian “central election committee” announced that more than 97% of Transnistrians supported the future accession of Transnistria to Russia. Also – they voted for the preservation of “independence” until the accession to the Russian Federation took place. Local deputies still appeal to these “results”.
