Shortly, Ukraine and Estonia will sign a bilateral agreement on security guarantees.
This was reported by RBC-Ukraine with reference to the head of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Estonia, Margus Tsakhna, during a press conference with his Ukrainian colleague Dmytro Kuleba.
“We decided to conclude a security agreement with Ukraine. It will be signed soon,” the minister said.
According to Tsakhna, under the agreement, Estonia will annually allocate 0.25% of its GDP for military aid to Ukraine.
“I think this is a very telling indicator of our readiness to help Ukraine bear this burden. This is an important volume,” he added.
Security guarantees
As of today, Ukraine has already signed security guarantees with more than 10 countries. Agreements are valid for 10 years. The content of obligations is different everywhere, as it depends on the capabilities of Kyiv’s partners. In general, the commitments guarantee assistance to Ukraine in the economic, defence and other spheres.
