At the end of June, the First World Congress of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations was held in Kaunas (Lithuania). An event that deserves the deep attention of analysts and the general public.
The Anti-Imperial Block of Nations is a coalition of representatives of the nations enslaved by Russia, which aims to destroy the Russian Empire and give the right to self-determination to the nations and territories enslaved by it.
Interestingly, this is one of the oldest platforms for the struggle against Russian imperialism. The current ABN is the direct heir of the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations, founded during World War II in 1943. Then warring Ukraine raised the cry of a joint revolutionary struggle of nations enslaved by Russia for their freedom.
After the end of World War II, the ABN became an effective non-state platform for the unification of anti-communist and anti-colonial liberation movements, whose extensive diplomatic and propaganda work became one of the factors in the destruction of the Russian Empire modelled after the Soviet Union.
Now, since the full-scale invasion, at the initiative of the OUN (b), ABN has reformatted its activities as the Anti-Imperial Bloc of Peoples, the purpose of which is to destroy the imperial-colonial construct of Russia, based on the misanthropic ideology of the “Russian measure” and to ensure the right to self-determination of nations enslaved by Russia.
The effective previous experience of the struggle against the Soviet Union at a time when most countries of the world considered it a geopolitical given, with which it is worth learning to coexist, is a good practical guarantee of the struggle against the newest form of Russian imperialism – racism.
The current Anti-Imperial Block of Nations considers the Russian-Ukrainian war to be the most favourable window of opportunity for all nations enslaved by Russia to gain independence. Therefore, in its resolution, the First World Congress of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations declared the liberation war of the Ukrainian people “a joint national liberation war of all nations enslaved and threatened by Russia.”
ABN, acting at the public level and not replacing the functions of the Ukrainian state, possessing intellectual and organizational baggage developed over decades, offers several important specific initiatives that will allow us to systematically move towards the goal.
Owning a network of regional committees of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations around the world, the ABN aims to establish the closest coordination and cooperation with the representatives of the national liberation movements of enslaved nations in their locations.
The organization and its regional offices become a kind of hub and resource centre of protection, support and development for enslaved nations.
Coordinated information work to counter Russian propaganda and disinformation is extremely important. The Anti-imperial Block of Nations has organized a network of information resources on various social platforms, which daily in several languages (currently in English, Ukrainian and Russian) inform about the real state of affairs in the Russian empire, the national liberation struggle of the nations enslaved by Russia. ABN resources are a consolidated voice of the nations enslaved by Moscow, which most effectively allows you to convey true information.
Another important direction of the work of the Anti-Imperial Bloc of Nations is the training of the future state elite of the nations enslaved by Russia. In their occupied homeland, representatives of enslaved nations can only gain collaborative experience by working in the occupying imperial structures. Instead, ABN created and intends to scale and multiply the University of Free Nations (UFN) as a brain and personnel centre of future independent states. Two sets of applicants from representatives of nations occupied by Russia have already received basic knowledge and skills of state building. In the future, it is planned to launch several university studies devoted to the study of languages, identities, and the history of enslaved nations.
Another important area of work is assistance and support in the organization of national units of the nations enslaved by Russia as part of the Armed Forces, as a prototype of the national armies of future states.
In general, the participants of the First World Congress of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations have a common goal – the overthrow of the Russian colonial empire and the emergence of national states on its ruins, which would build their free lives based on international law, mutual respect and peace.
Along with the fact that ABN has become another platform consolidating representatives of nations enslaved by Russia, the organization has its own important features.
First, endurance and successful experience of struggle.
Secondly, autonomy and independence from government finances. Regardless of the change in geopolitical winds, and attempts at a new “detente” or “reset of relations” with Russia, the goals and activities of the ABN remain unchanged – the complete and final elimination of Russian imperialism.
ABN has no external funding and does not depend on changes in the political plans of any donors.
Thirdly, the presence of Ukrainian emigrant organizations and ABN branches in all the most important centres of influence allows systematic and coordinated work on policy formation in the countries of residence.
Fourthly, the fact that the basis of the unification is Ukraine, a country that itself experienced the terrible stage of Russian occupation and colonization, and now has become a victim of an aggressive genocidal war, is a guarantee that Ukrainians sincerely share the desire for freedom of nations enslaved by Russia and will not use them as a bargaining chip when geopolitical circumstances change.
In general, the powerful restart of the organization, which in much more unfavorable conditions contributed to the destruction of the Soviet Union, became an unpleasant signal for the Kremlin, which resorted to real steps to disrupt the event.
However, the existence of the relict colonial empire is doomed. Bandera’s slogan “Freedom for nations – freedom for man!” will definitely be implemented.
