The Second Western District Military Court sentenced 53-year-old citizen of Ukraine and Russia Ivan Nedilsky to 26 years in prison. This was reported by Mediazona, citing the court’s press service.
Nedilsky was found guilty under articles on treason (Article 275 of the Criminal Code), vandalism (Part 2 of Article 214 of the Criminal Code), participation in a terrorist organization (Part 2 of Article 205.4 of the Criminal Code), a terrorist act by a group of persons causing significant property damage (clauses a, b, Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code) and an attempt to commit another such terrorist act (Part 3 of Article 30, Part 2 of Article 205 of the Criminal Code).
The court reported that Nedilsky’s sentence was handed down back in April. The case was heard behind closed doors. The man “fully admitted his guilt and repented.” According to the sentence, Nedilsky will spend eight of the 26 years of his sentence in prison, and the remaining 18 years in a maximum security penal colony.
Nedilsky’s arrest became known in September 2023. As the publication Mozhaisk-24 wrote, he was accused of setting fire to two military registration and enlistment offices in the Moscow region: Mozhaisk and Shakhovsky. According to the Baza Telegram channel, an attempt to set fire to the first occurred in July 2022: then an unknown person threw two bottles of flammable liquid into the building, but no fire occurred. Two months later, Nedilsky allegedly threw a Molotov cocktail into the cadastral service building in the village of Shakhovskaya, where the military registration and enlistment office was previously located.
