It is likely that shortly, North Korean troops will begin storming Ukrainian military positions in the Kursk region, according to a report by the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR).
According to intelligence, “the command of the North Korean army units in the Russian Federation received an order to enter into interaction with adjacent Russian units conducting combat operations in the Kursk region.”
“It is likely that the leaders of the aggressor state will soon involve DPRK soldiers in directly conducting assault operations. The other day they received additional food supplies,” the HUR noted.
In addition, as the intelligence adds, “on 13 December, the DPRK units were put on alert and ordered to await further instructions, and some of the troops are being covertly transferred to the front line in civilian trucks that outwardly resemble water delivery vehicles.”

Radio Liberty is currently unable to verify this information from independent sources. The Russian Defence Ministry did not comment on this report.
Earlier, a representative of the Main Intelligence Directorate (HUR) of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine, Andriy Chernyak, told Radio Liberty’s Donbas Realities project that two thousand North Korean servicemen were sent to the Marine Corps brigade and the Airborne Forces division of the Russian Army.
The Main Intelligence Directorate of the Ministry of Defence of Ukraine previously reported that the first military units from the DPRK arrived in the combat zone of the Russian-Ukrainian war on 23 October – “their appearance was recorded in the Kursk region of the Russian Federation. ”
The Financial Times and Suspilny were informed about the first combat clashes between Ukrainian and North Korean military personnel in the Kursk region on 5 November by sources in the special services. It was noted that so far “there are no major clashes.”
In late October, Western media reported that North Korea had sent troops to Russia to participate in hostilities against Ukraine. According to Ukrainian and Western sources, more than 10,000 North Korean troops had arrived in the Kursk region; in early November, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky reported that they had suffered their first casualties. Moscow and Pyongyang have not confirmed the direct participation of North Korean troops in the fighting.
