On Thursday, 12 June, the Ukrainian community in Rome held a protest against the horrific bombing of Ukrainian cities by a terrorist country and called on the world community not to stand aside but to put pressure on fascist Russia.
The event was attended by Italian politicians: Senator Filippo Sensi, Member of the Lower House of the Italian Parliament Benedetto Della Vedova, former Vice-President of the European Parliament Fabio Massimo Castaldo, as well as a representative of the Georgian community in Rome, Eka Kacharava. Those present honoured the memory of all those who died from Russian aggression. In honour of the deceased soloist of the Odessa National Opera, Vladyslav Horai and all Ukrainian artists who were killed by Russia, starting with the glorious memory of Vasyl Slipak, the famous Roman performer Ivan Maksymovych sang “O sole mio”.
The rally was also addressed by the head of the Christian Society of Ukrainians in Italy, Oles Horodetsky, and activists Anna Mosiychuk and Yuriy Yanchyshyn.
Since on this day, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine reported on the first million neutralized occupiers, the participants of the action made an installation with the inscription “1,000,000 occupiers neutralized”, covered with Russian military uniforms and rations. And on the occasion of “Russia Day”, which was loudly celebrated by the embassy of the aggressor country in Rome, Ukrainians wished for the speedy collapse of the quasi-empire. Traditionally, a donation of 274 euros was made to the Armed Forces of Ukraine, which Yuriy Yanchyshyn will deliver to the destination.
