This is the title of a book published by Circassian scientist Nurzhan Emikova, a senior researcher at the Faculty of Ethnology and Folk Art of the Adygea Republican Institute for Humanitarian Studies named after Kerashev.
The entire Circassia is vast, and the Russian occupiers, having conquered the lands devastated by the 100-year Caucasian War and depopulated, rarely retained the original names. Therefore, this specific study managed to include only Abadzekhiya, the historical Circassian region, from which the entire indigenous population was expelled. The Seversky, Belorichensky, and Absheronsky districts, as well as the Goryachiy Klyuch municipal district of the Krasnodar Territory in the Russian Federation, are located approximately in this area (see map).
It is worth noting the limited edition of the book, only 500 copies, which were immediately sold out. This indicates the keen interest of Circassians in the topic of the revival of native toponymy.
