Human rights groups and legal communities representing enslaved nations have intensified their efforts to develop concepts for legal succession and the dismantling of Russian federal legislation within national subjects. For years, the federal center has weaponized the justice system as a punitive tool to fabricate criminal cases against national figures, ban civic organizations (such as “Bashkort”), and alienate land rights in favor of Moscow corporations.
Today, legal scholars emphasize that court rulings issued by occupying or Kremlin-controlled institutions on republic territories must be declared legally null and void following the restoration of sovereignty. This applies to political sentences as well as decisions regarding the privatization of strategic enterprises, mineral deposits, and timber lands. Developing judicial mechanisms for lustration and amnesty for political prisoners is a mandatory element of preparing for sovereign state-building.
International organizations’ recognition of the criminal nature of the RF’s colonial policy provides the legal groundwork for establishing special tribunals. The objective of such bodies must include not only prosecuting officials for war crimes in Ukraine, but also condemning those involved in suppressing national liberation movements and violating indigenous rights inside Russia itself.
