For two weeks now, Russia has been in total administrative chaos and the huge Russian Federation with its gigantic power apparatus cannot do anything with a very small and lightly armed DRG on its territory. Almost the whole district of the Belgorod region has turned into a gray zone, from which all government agencies fled at once.
Before our eyes, the whole structure of internal stability, which the Kremlin has been creating for two decades, is crumbling. The events in the Belgorod region demonstrate both the weakness of the Russian government and its inability to defend the country’s borders. And this is completely opposite to the myth that has been created around Putin for the past twenty-odd years.
Putin’s model of governance, where he remained above the clash of opposing factions, failed. Everyone says that the problem of the struggle of the DRG is the prerogative of the commander in chief. But he is not ready for this and is not capable of it. Throughout his political career, he hid around the corner and waited for everything to resolve itself. But this time it won’t work.
