Anti-imperial Block of Nations

In the event of a critical situation, Ukraine will receive the necessary weapons but it may be a smaller number of missiles for the relevant systems than now, according to the former deputy head of the Security Council of Ukraine Viktor Yagun.

In September 2023, when the situation with the supply of weapons to Ukraine worsened, the United States developed several schemes of possible options for replacing missiles from American warehouses and enterprises. The details were reported on the air of the “Pryamiy” TV channel by Major General of the SBU reserve Viktor Yagun, former deputy head of the Security Service of Ukraine.

He said that there was an agreement with Japan regarding such supply. The country has a license to produce the corresponding missiles. In his opinion, in case of a critical situation, taking into account this mechanism, Ukraine will receive the necessary weapons.

“Perhaps not in the amount we need, but we will have them,” explained Yagun.

The former deputy chairman of the Security Council of Ukraine called the supply of weapons a serious issue. He recalled the experience of Israel when during the attack on the country by the terrorist group Hamas, there were not enough missiles for air defense systems.

“The exhaustion of air defense systems is a rather problematic thing. I hope that both our government and allies understand that this is critical for us today,” Viktor Yagun added.

Air defence of Ukraine and its probable exhaustion

The British newspaper The Telegraph reported on 16 March that Ukraine faced a serious ammunition crisis, and missiles for the air defense system may run out by the end of the month. In a series of publications, experts have expressed concern that Ukrainians are losing the ability to defend themselves against missile strikes and drone attacks by the Russian occupiers, such as those that occurred on Friday, 15 March, in Odesa, where an attack killed 20 people.

It will be recalled that on 18 March, as Digi24 reported, the President of Romania gave his consent to the transportation of long-range weapons for Ukraine across the territory of the country. In the letter, the head of state informed the parliamentary representatives that he had agreed to the transit to Ukraine of the equipment and training of about 50 Ukrainian soldiers transferred by Finland.
