Anti-imperial Block of Nations

Today marks the 241st anniversary of one of the most brutal crimes committed by Russians in the Refuge Rock area, now modern Alaska. In 1784, during a brief stay in the region, Russian colonisers shot more than 500 residents: men, women, and children. After that, they captured more than a thousand people. The Russian Empire not only fought for territory but also sought to destroy the identities, cultures, and histories of the nations it conquered.
This episode is just one of many examples of Russian aggression, which led to death and destruction. The evil of Russia is not limited to certain territories or eras. The crimes against Ukrainians, the nations of Europe and the Caucasus are well-known, but even in Alaska, where the Russians were not for long, they left behind ruins. The best thing that happened to Alaska is that the United States was able to buy it and save it from the “Russian world”. This is another reminder of the danger of Russian aggression.
The United States and Russia will hold a diplomatic meeting 300 kilometres from the site of the tragedy that left its bloody mark more than 200 years ago.
