Anti-imperial Block of Nations

In 1943, a battle took place near the Volyn village of Tochevyky, in which former German army soldiers opposed their recent commanders.
Four Azerbaijanis and one Ukrainian were killed in the battle. The fallen were buried in the village, and the Azerbaijani soldiers were given a final funeral according to Muslim rites.
On the anniversary of this battle, we tell you how Azerbaijanis ended up in the ranks of the UPA, why they sided with the Ukrainian rebels, and what other nationalities joined the Ukrainian liberation movement.
