We’ve come across rare archival footage of Dzhokhar Dudayev, the first president of Ichkeria, personally commenting on the tragedy in the Prigorodny district and Vladikavkaz in the fall of 1992. We decided to show these videos so that everyone can see and remember how the Kremlin organised and directed the most horrific ethnic cleansing in the Caucasus. Thousands of Ingush lost their homes, families, and homeland. But behind this tragedy lay more than just interethnic hatred—Moscow’s calculations.
