Every year on December 10, the world celebrates Human Rights Day! In honour of this important international holiday, the director of the Rivne Regional Museum of Local Folklore Oleksandr Bulyha spoke about the history of Human Rights Day and the participation of the Ukrainian Insurgent Army in the struggle for the right of nations to freedom and independence. Oleksandr Stepanovych illustrated his story with materials from the museum exhibition, related to activities of the UPA in the Rivne region. Nazar Voloshchuk performed the song of the Ukrainian insurgents “Freedom for nations! Freedom for mankind!” These very words became the slogan of the First Conference of the Enslaved Nations of Europe and Asia, which took place in November 1943 in the Rivne region and to this day is a symbol of the AFU’s struggle for the freedom of the Ukrainian nation and the freedom of other nations enslaved by Russia! Mr. Nazar is the chief specialist of the Culture and Tourism Department of the Rivne Oblast Military Administration, an expert in cultural studies, member of the All-Ukrainian Music Union and the National Union of Kobzars of Ukraine.
