Anti-imperial Block of Nations

In the next episode of the O’Decolon podcast, the hosts continue to discuss the topic of colonialism and its impact on various aspects of the life and culture of nations. Kamila Smagulova, a political scientist and researcher from Kazakhstan, an activist from Kalmykia, Aldar Erendzhenov, the founder and activist of the movement “Asians of Russia” Vasily Matenv, and an activist from Tuva, Dankhaya Khovalyg, are participating in this discussion. One of the key themes raised in the studio is the return to one’s identity.

The guests discuss how colonialism can push back and suppress unique cultural traits and national identities. Speaking of decolonization, special attention is paid to language. Language is one of the key elements of culture, and its preservation and overcoming colonial oppression play an important role in the process of decolonization. The presenters also discuss topics such as the poverty of the regions, which may be associated with the historical traces of colonialism; internal decolonization, which concerns the process of awareness and overcoming of prejudices and stereotypes; separatism and other important topics.

This episode of the O’Decolon podcast is designed to immerse listeners in the depths of the problem of colonialism and show how important decolonization is for the restoration of the rights and identity of nations.
