In Bashkortostan, temporarily occupied by Russia, an explosion occurred on the railway section between the stations of Dema and Chernikovka on the night of 3 November, leading to a large derailment of cars with coal. According to Baza, as a result of the explosion, 22 cars derailed, most of which overturned, damaging the contact supports, the network and the railway track itself.
The examination established that the explosive device was planted on the ridge beam under the hatch of one of the carriages. A high explosive was used for the detonation. Two days after the incident, special services detained the suspect – he turned out to be 31-year-old Ivan I. from Stavropol Krai. Investigative bodies opened a criminal case under the article “Sabotage”.
