Anti-imperial Block of Nations

A new book, “For the Freedom of Ukraine and Our Own!”, has been published in Sweden, serving as an important testament to the solidarity of Swedish society with Ukraine in its struggle against Russian aggression. The publication highlights how Sweden and its citizens support Ukraine, helping the country endure the war and move closer to victory.

The book features interviews with Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson, politicians Fredrik Malm and Gunnar Hökmark, an analytical article by Hans Petter Midttun, as well as contributions from leading Swedish journalists and public figures. It also includes numerous photographs documenting solidarity demonstrations with Ukraine held across Sweden.

Among those interviewed is Aida Abdrakhmanova, Head of the Tatarstan Independence Committee, a Tatar political activist, member of the Free Nations League, and Vice President of the Anti-Imperial Bloc of Nations. In her interview, she speaks about the Tatar people’s struggle for the right to self-determination, the consequences of Russian imperialism, and the importance of solidarity among the peoples living under the Kremlin’s rule.

Particularly significant is the fact that Sweden’s solidarity rallies for Ukraine have become not only a platform for expressing support for the Ukrainian people but also a venue for raising awareness about the situation of the oppressed peoples within the Russian Federation. Every Monday, demonstrations in support of Ukraine take place in Stockholm, where Aida Abdrakhmanova regularly addresses participants, speaking about Russian imperialism, the assimilation policies directed against the Tatar people, and the activities of the Tatar national movement.

Ramil Abdrakhmanov, a member of the Tatarstan Independence Committee, is also actively involved in solidarity actions with Ukraine. He regularly participates in the Wednesday demonstrations outside the Russian Embassy in Sweden under the slogan “Russia, Out of Ukraine!” (“Ryssland ut ur Ukraina!”), as well as the Sunday rallies at Sergels Torg, organised by the Ukrainian organisation Nordic Ukraine Forum.

The publication of “For the Freedom of Ukraine and Our Own!” marks an important milestone not only for Swedish-Ukrainian cooperation but also for representatives of nations who oppose Russian imperialism. The inclusion of Aida Abdrakhmanova’s interview in this volume reflects the growing recognition that Ukraine’s struggle for freedom is closely connected with the aspirations of other nations seeking freedom, democracy, human dignity, equality, and the right to determine their own future.
