Anti-imperial Block of Nations

The Russian army is losing up to 40,000 men at the front every month, more than 60% of them killed. There are no longer enough contractors to cover these losses, so the Kremlin is discussing a new wave of mobilisation.

Why the Russian army is short of people

According to sources, the recruitment of contract soldiers is almost 100 percent complete. But even this is not enough to form new units or fully replace losses.

“Moscow has the biggest problem with recruiting unmanned systems to its forces: students and young people are offered service in the BPS units as a supposedly safer and more prestigious option. However, there is still no flow of applicants,” the material says.

How many people can be mobilised in the fall?

Sources in military and political circles are hesitant to state unequivocally that the Kremlin will announce a new wave of mobilisation immediately after the September elections in Russia.

If Vladimir Putin does take such a step, it would involve 100,000-300,000 people. This would happen in parallel with the recruitment of contract soldiers.

Why will the mobilisation be extended for several months?

Most likely, the new draft will be carried out gradually, rather than all at once. This will allow the Kremlin to avoid a sharp public shock.

At the same time, this will reduce the burden on training centres. The Russian system is simply not capable of accepting, arming, and training hundreds of thousands of people at the same time. Therefore, the effect of the new wave of mobilisation may appear as early as winter or even next year.

Earlier, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky said that the head of the Kremlin is preparing conditions for expanding mobilisation.
