Dear friends!
23 May is traditionally celebrated in Ukraine as Heroes’ Day. On this day, Ukrainians honour Heroes of all historical eras: princes of Ukraine-Rus and their druzhinniks, hetmans and koshev atamans of the Cossack era and Zaporozhian knighthood, Sich Riflemen and warriors of the UNR period, OUN militants, UPA soldiers, and modern Heroes of the Defence Forces of Ukraine.
Heroes’ Day is a celebration of Ukrainian courage, bravery, and nobility, which in our days
has acquired a particularly urgent significance. On the fronts of the War for Independence, the newest Heroes, like their glorious predecessors, are waging a victorious struggle against the eternal enemy.
We sincerely congratulate the entire Ukrainian community: military personnel, veterans, and volunteers on this true national holiday!
In 2023, the Organisation of Ukrainian Nationalists (Banderites) came out with an initiative to establish Heroes’ Day at the official state level. Our initiative was supported by authoritative military personnel, volunteers, representatives of local governments, public figures, artists, journalists, both in Ukraine and in the diaspora. We believe that the voice of the public will be heard and the Ukrainian authorities will finally establish Heroes’ Day as a state holiday that unites Heroes of all eras and unites Ukrainians from all over the world. Let us be worthy heirs of the glory of our great ancestors and grateful contemporaries of the Heroes of today!
Glory to Ukraine! Glory to the heroes!
The OUN (Bandera) leadership
