Today marks the 32nd anniversary of the proclamation of Free Ichkeria in Dzhokhar. The independence of Ichkeria was declared immediately after the collapse of the Soviet Union. In fact, it was Independence from the Russian Federation. Almost immediately after that, the armed struggle for the Freedom of the Chechen People began.
Unfortunately, the Russians then almost destroyed the young Independent Republic. Today the sons and daughters of Ichkeria are scattered all over the world. But they continue to fight for the Independence of their Fatherland.
Also, the people of Ichkeria are fighting today in the ranks of the Armed Forces of Ukraine and are bringing our victory in the fight against the Moscow aggressor closer. Ichkeria is fighting for our and its Freedom!
Today, here in Kyiv, near the memorial plaque of Chechnya’s ruler, Imam Shamil, we laid flowers. We are convinced that Independent Ichkeria will be! What about Ukraine with the borders of 1991!
