It is difficult to imagine a Pole in today’s realities who objectively perceives the Ukrainian national liberation struggle.
And it is even harder to imagine a Pole among the friends of Bandera.
And it is almost impossible to imagine a Pole at the annual Bandera readings.
But such a Giant was.
Janusz Bugajski…
At the age of 71, the brilliant American analyst Janusz Bugajski, author of books about the so-called Russian and the so-called federation, a great friend of all enslaved peoples, and the world’s chief pathologist of the Russian Empire, passed away.
Janusz Bugajski was a senior fellow at the Jamestown Foundation in Washington, D.C., and head of the South and Central European Studies Program at the Institute of Foreign Service of the U.S. Department of State.
His book “Failed State: A Manual for Dismantling Russia” became a practical guide to understanding the processes already taking place within the Russian Empire.
Janusz Bugajski was a special guest at the XI Bandera Readings “Liquidation of the Russian Empire” on 10 February
2024.
“The size of Russia, acquired through centuries of imperial conquest and colonisation, is a fundamental structural weakness. Instead of building a stable, legal and productive state, all Russian regimes focused on expanding the borders of Muscovy and enslaving various regions and nationalities within the borders of the empire,” emphasised American researcher of the dismemberment of Russia Janusz Bugayski.
He was also convinced that Russia could not win the war against Ukraine: “I believe that the regime will exhaust its power, keeping the country from collapsing. Internal pressure will increase. We will see a struggle between the Kremlin and its opponents in the army and in the intelligence services. Between nationalist and imperial groups that are at war. Between Moscow and several disgruntled republics, even regions populated by Russians. We have already seen this during the Prigozhin rebellion last summer. Also, in the examples of the deaths of oligarchs and high-ranking officials, frequent army purges, reshuffles and open disputes in military structures.”
A bright memory and a low bow for helping Ukraine and the enslaved nations of the empire.
