The Western European tour presenting the international human rights project “Putin’s Real Prisoners. Political Prisoners of the Enslaved Nations” began in Austria.
In Vienna, with the support of the Representative Office of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Austria and the Ukrainian organisation “Mriya”, a presentation of the project’s exhibition of the same name took place.
The human rights project was presented by Oleh Medunytsya, President of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations, and Oleh Vitvitskyj, Executive Director of the ABN.
Opening the event, Oleh Medunytsya emphasised the importance of countering Moscow’s propaganda in Europe and informing our European partners about the real situation on the territory of the so-called “Russian Federation”, in particular, regarding political repression.
Oleg Vitvitsky told the audience the stories of Zarema Musayeva (Chechnya), Altan Ochirov (Oirat-Kalmykia), Natalia Filonova (Buryatia), Mikhail Afanasyev (Khakassia), Ayrat Dilmukhametov (Bashkortostan), Parvinakhan Abuzarova (Tatarstan), Fail Alsynov (Bashkortostan), Aleksandr Gabyshev (Sakha-Yakutia), Zarifa Sautieva (Ingushetia), Andrey Vasyurenko (Karelia), Crimean Tatar activists Asan Akhtemov and Raif Fevziyev, and five political prisoners who are ethnic Ukrainians.
Representative of the Government of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria in Austria, Roza Dunaeva, noted: “Today we are talking about people, activists of national liberation movements, who opposed the Russian occupation regime, supported the struggle for freedom, for Ukraine, for the de-occupation of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. They raised their voices against propaganda and racism and ended up behind bars for this. Our duty is not to remain silent. It is necessary to fight, remind the world about each of them, and defend the fate of every political prisoner. The fight against Russian propaganda is a fight for truth and for the future of free peoples.”
Former Deputy Minister of Information of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria, Danilbek Elikhanov, in his speech, emphasised the relevance of the human rights project to support political prisoners representing enslaved peoples. He called on all those present to disseminate information about the Kremlin’s political repressions and other crimes committed by the Moscow regime as widely as possible.
