In Poltava, a reward was announced for information about the vandals who damaged the memorial plaque to the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria

On 9 March at around 18:40, two unknown persons damaged the memorial plaque of Dzhokhar Dudayev, the first president of the Chechen Republic of Ichkeria. The plaque was unveiled on 15 February at the building of the children’s polyclinic, located at 2 Dzhokhara Dudayeva Street.

Those involved in the crime are being identified by the police. Investigators began proceedings under Part 1 of Article 194 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine: intentional destruction or damage to property.

The damaged plaque was removed from the wall of the hospital. The secretary of the city council, Kateryna Yamshchikova, said that the new board will be anti-vandal. A philanthropist approached the city council and said it would be an honour for him to make a memorial plaque.

Deputy Vadym Yamshchikov reported that the Chechen diaspora in Poltava promises a reward of $100,000 for information about people who committed crimes. Contacts:  099-764-0199, 096-644-2156.
