Today, 10 July, the banner exhibition “Putin’s Real Prisoners. Political Prisoners of the Enslaved Nations” opened at the Lviv Regional Council’s municipal institution “Lviv Historical Museum”, the purpose of which is to tell everyone about the repressions of the Kremlin regime against leaders and activists of the national liberation movements of the nations enslaved by Russia.
The posters tell the stories of political prisoners from Chechnya, Oirat-Kalmykia, Buryatia, Khakassia, Bashkortostan, Tatarstan, Sakha-Yakutia, Ingushetia, Karelia and Crimea. It is also a story about Oleksandr Dimitrenko, Natalia Romanenko, Anton Osipenko, Oleksandr Filimonov, and Vladislav Nikitenko – Ukrainians who were convicted by the Kremlin’s repressive machine for their active civic stance.
“The exhibition, presented by representatives of the Organization of Ukrainian Nationalists and the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations, is of great importance for spreading the truth about the Kremlin and Putin regimes. This is a continuation of the activities of our grandfathers and great-grandfathers, who at one time created the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations,” said Svyatoslav Sheremeta, head of the committee on culture, information policy and promotion of the Lviv Regional Council, in his speech.
The exhibition has already been seen in the USA, Canada, Germany, Finland, Lithuania, Latvia, Estonia, Denmark, Sweden, Norway, Moldova, Bulgaria, Greece, Italy, and the Czech Republic.
“The exhibition is an advisory campaign for the release of people who are fighting for the collapse of the Russian Federation. The work is in line with the work of our predecessors in the 1960s, who sought the release of Ukrainian political prisoners from Soviet concentration camps,” said Oleh Medunytsya, president of the Anti-Imperial Block of Nations.
Oleр Medunytsya added that 70 representatives of enslaved nations were trained as part of the University of Free Nations project. They were taught to create organizations to fight the Moscow imperialists, using the experience of the underground struggle of the OUN. “Our victory and that of the civilized world can only come when the Moscow empire is destroyed,” added Oleh Medunytsya.
The exhibition will run at the museum for a month.
