A meeting of the Temporary Special Commission of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on issues of interaction with the national liberation movements of the enslaved indigenous nations of the Russian Federation was held today.
The experts presented the draft law “On the basic principles of the state policy of Ukraine regarding interaction with the national movements of the enslaved indigenous nations of the Russian Federation.” This framework draft law, the preparation of which is the main task of the TSC, defines the legal foundations of state policy, introduces the relevant conceptual system and terminology, and defines key policy principles and areas of responsibility of executive authorities.
The draft law is based on the recognized norms of international law, primarily the founding declarations of the UN, and at the same time continues the 80-year tradition of the Organizations of Ukrainian Nationalists to support the rights of the enslaved indigenous nations of the empire.
