Anti-imperial Block of Nations

The OUN (Melnyk) journal. It was also used as a tribune of the “International of Freedom” – an international political organization. It was founded in 1946 in West Germany on the initiative of the OUN(m) activist O. Zybachynskyi in opposition to the Anti-Bolshevik Bloc of Nations created by the OUN(b). The Presidium was located in Rome from 1952. The main goal was declared to be the fight against Bolshevism and the protection of public freedoms of nations (in fact, human rights) in communist countries. Albanians, Belarusians, Bulgarians, Georgians, Chinese, Lithuanians, Poles, Romanians, Slovaks, Slovenes, Croats, Czechs, Hungarians, and Ukrainians were represented in the “International of Freedom”. The organization held several political demonstrations, maintained contacts with government circles of some Western European countries, and published a quarterly of the same name. In the 1950s, it was particularly active in Buenos Aires. The general secretary was O. Zybachynsky (1946–49), V. Fedoronchuk (from 1952), and the chairman of the presidium was the Hungarian K. Kalliai (from 1954). It ceased its activities in the early 1960s.
