This weekend, public protests against political repression in Moscow are taking place all over the world. The reason for this was the arrest by the repressive Kremlin regime of Rustem Fararetdinov – the brother of the famous leader of the Bashkir national liberation movement Ruslan Gabbasov.
Over the centuries, the essence of Moscow’s imperial repressive policy has remained unchanged: if it is impossible to intimidate, break or kill freedom fighters, persecution begins against their relatives or loved ones. There are many such examples in the history of the Ukrainian national liberation movement. At one time, the families of almost all the figures of the nationalist underground, including Stepan Bandera and Roman Shukhevych, suffered because of the uncompromising struggle against the enslavers. Arresting parents, shooting brothers, abducting children – this is a typical diabolical set of imperial special services that they use even to this day.
We met Ruslan Gabbasov recently, during the 8th Free Nations of Post-Russia Forum. Ruslan is an uncompromising fighter for the freedom of his nation, a true nationalist who lives and is on fire with the idea of liberating his native Bashkortostan from the imperial yoke. Also – he is a student of our University of Free Nations, which trains the future leaders of free states that will be formed on the ruins of the empire.
A few weeks ago, FSB structures launched an attack on information resources co-ordinated by Ruslan Gabbasov, and now they have dared to commit a cynical sacrilege – the arrest of an innocent relative.
The agonizing Kremlin system made a big mistake by taking Ruslan Gabbasov’s brother hostage because in this way it incurred the righteous anger of all Bashkortostans and other enslaved nations. Everyone united in the struggle for the release of Rustam Fararetdinov: Bashkortostan, Tatars, Oirat-Kalmyks, Yakuts, Nogays, Buryats, Lithuanians and of course, Ukrainians.
As the executive director of the Anti-imperial Bloc of Nations, I consider it my duty to declare my full support for Ruslan Gabbasov and his family. I appeal to Amnesty International regarding the proper reaction to the political repressions of the Putin-FSB regime!
I am joining the international flash mob “My brother is a #HOSTAGE in #Russia” because all fighters for the freedom of enslaved nations are our brothers and sisters!
